Larry Richardson Obituary
Larry was raised in Columbiana while spending summers at Berlin Lake water skiing and fishing with his family. He was a member of St. Jude Roman Catholic Church. A 1966 graduate of Columbiana High School, he answered his country's call to serve in the Army during the Vietnam War. Larry was a Delta Raider, one of the most decorated units in the Vietnam War, Company D, 2nd Battalion, 501st Infantry, 101st Airborne Division. A decorated infantryman, Larry was awarded the Bronze Star.
Upon returning home, he worked for General Motors in Lordstown for 32 years. His work ethic was admirable, seldom missing a day. He lived near Lake Tomahawk, where he continued his love of fishing, passing his love of waterskiing and the lake onto his children and grandchildren. He retired and became a snowbird, enjoying the best of Ohio weather and the Gulf Coast in the winter.
He is survived by his children, Angie (Jason) Hensley of Rising Fawn GA, Stacy Love of Leetonia, Brock (Veronica) Richardson of Medina, and Zero Richardson of Bessemer PA; six grandsons, and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Gary (Dorothy) Richardson of Columbiana, Jeff (Patty) Richardson of Florida and Tom (Diane) Richardson of Columbiana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Richardson and his sisters, Linda Richardson and Denise Ozenghar.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at the Columbiana Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Benjamin Firestone Post 290, American Legion Honor Guard.
