Lurlene EVERAGE Obituary

Lurlene Hattie Goldsmith Everage, 94, of North Bloomfield, OH departed this life Friday, October 10, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. at her residence, following complications from an extended illness. She was born March 28, 1931 in Montgomery, AL, the daughter of Wolf The Bear Killer and Corrine Goldsmith, residing in the area for 67 years, coming from Cleveland. Lurlene was employed with the State of Ohio Cooperative Extension Service for 30 years as a Consultant, before retiring in 1996. She also owned and operated her own vegetable and fruit stand. She was a charter member of the First Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as the first President of the Sunday School, Choir, Kitchen Committee, Missionary, Deaconess Board and was the Mother of the Church. She enjoyed singing, gardening, cooking and fishing. She married Willie "Jack" Everage Jr. in 1947, he died February 16, 2011. She leaves to mourn one sister, Mrs. Doris (Levi) Hamm of Conyers, GA; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Ms. Beverly Louise Sledge; 12 brothers; 12 sisters and one grandchild. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Mesopotamia, with Calling Hours from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Brownwood Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be sent to P.O. Box 164, North Bloomfield, OH 44450. Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
