Margaret Folsome

Mrs. Margaret Folsome, 90, of Youngstown, transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
Mrs. Folsome, was born January 11, 1934 in Youngstown, a daughter of Frank and Georgia Mitchell. She was a 1952 graduate of East High School. Margaret worked for over 20 years with the Youngstown Public Library – Main Branch, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Bethel C.O.G.I.C. where she served as Church Mother and was the former Minister of Music for 48 years. She was a music scholar and imparted her knowledge to many directors, church choirs, soloists and musicians. It was through her musical inspiration that many young musicians flourished and became great organists and pianists in their own right. She enjoyed cooking, baking, music, teaching music, fashions and interior decorating. However, her passion was her family and she enjoyed being mother to her six children.
She leaves to mourn her passing, but to celebrate her life and legacy five children, Robert "Bobby" (Madgeline) Fields of Columbus, Patricia "Patches" Rutledge of Trussville, Alabama, Anita "Bunny" (Wesley) Traylor of Boardman, Harold (Mandy) Folsome of Columbus and Timothy Folsome of Maryland; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Irwin Fields, and her second husband, Harold R. Folsome; a daughter, Christina "Tina" Folsome; and two brothers, Leroy and Ellis Mitchell.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at Victory Church, 3899 McCartney Rd., Lowellville, OH 44436. A celebration of life will follow at 10:00 a.m.
