Maria Garner Obituary
Maria L. "Marylou" Garner, age 66, of Hubbard, OH passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania after a brief illness. She was born in Leesburg, Virginia on October 20, 1958, to Ira A. McNulty and Maria Wagnerberger.
Maria was a 1976 graduate of South Range High School and later attended Trumbull Business College earning two degrees in Medical Billing & Coding and Accounting. She found great joy in the small things in life including crafting, reading, crocheting, coloring, gardening, quilts, cooking, her fur babies, but most importantly, the pride and joys of her life were her children and grandchildren.
Maria spent her childhood years as an "army brat" living in many different places including Virginia, Kansas, and Germany the latter of which always held a special place in her heart - this is where her parents met, fell in love and got married. She spent many summers in Germany on their family farm learning German, how to cook and bake, helping with farm chores like milking the cows, riding horses, being chased by chickens and roosters and living her life to the fullest.
Throughout her life, Maria was a firm believer in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She attended church at Covenant Life Fellowship in Hubbard for many years. She wanted nothing more in life than to bring her family, friends, and strangers to know the Lord. Sunday mornings would be spent going to church, then coming home to make a big breakfast for her family while listening to worship music.
If you knew Maria, you knew that her joy and light would radiate throughout an entire room. She loved fiercely and gave generously. She always had a positive outlook and only saw the good in people. She was a role model to many people and a walking testimony to the strength that God gives in the toughest of times.
She leaves behind a daughter, Hannah Garner and her husband Richard Wolfe of Hubbard; two sons, Spencer Garner of Hubbard; and Bernard McNulty; a sister Doris (James) Pauley of Copperas Cove, Texas; 6 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren; a plethora of nieces, nephews and cousins; her very best friend whom she considered her soul sister, Kathy Cracraft; and her fur baby, Jackson.
Besides her parents, Maria was also preceded in death by her siblings, Johanna "Lore" Matheny, Richard McNulty; and her soul dog, Heidi.
Maria's wish is that everyone celebrates her life. She leaves you with the Psalm of David; "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my scup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalm 23: 1-6
