Patricia "Patti" Gonci

Poland - It is with deep love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of our beloved mother, Patricia "Patti" Gonci, who passed away peacefully on October 27, lovingly surrounded by her children and family, at the age of 83.

Patti was born on May 27, 1942, the daughter of Fred and Rose Cannone Adams. She graduated from East High School in 1960 and spent many years working in the legal field in Youngstown. However, her true passion in life was her family-her children and grandchildren, her dear sister, nieces and nephews, and extended family-whom she showered with affection and care.

Patti had a warm and joyful spirit that uplifted and sustained those around her. Her generosity shone through in all she did, and her kind and compassionate nature brought comfort, laughter, and light to everyone she met.

She was immensely proud of her grandchildren and loved being on the go between Columbus and New York to be near them and share her infectious joy. She had an adventurous soul and traveled the globe, once watching the sunrise over Mount Everest from high in the Himalayas. For many years, she found a second home with her daughter in New York, where she enjoyed the city's cultural offerings and was an adored grandmother. She also spent many happy years being a vital part of her sister's family life in Youngstown and her son's family life in Dublin.

Patti leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever comfort her family and will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her cherished son Michael F. Cunningham, M.D. of Columbus; daughter, Patricia E. Cunningham of New York; daughter-in-law Janice; son-in-law Bruce Schlein; her beloved sister, Marlene and husband Joe Sandine; cherished niece Jolynne (Scott) Frommelt; and nephew, Joey (Lisa) Sandine; grandson Luca; granddaughters, Courtney, Casey, and Arden; great grandson Michael Joseph; as well as many loved grandnieces and grandnephews, Lauren, Scotty, Jenna, Katie, Julianna, Lina, and Joey, who doted on her in her final years.

Patti was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael J. Cunningham; and her second husband, Andrew Gonci.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 3, at Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.

The family would like to thank all who assisted Patti throughout her illness in recent years, especially her sister Marlene and niece Jolynne, who did so much for her with unwavering devotion.

Patti was a person of deep faith who trusted in the example of St. Thérèse, believing that through simple acts of love one can accomplish extraordinary things. It is the best way to honor her memory.
