Raymond Dodd Obituary
Raymond (Buddy) E. Dodd Jr. peacefully passed away on May 29, 2024, at the age of 62, in the hospital following a courageous battle to recover from a motor vehicle accident. Born on November 27, 1961, he was a cherished native of Crandall Ave, where his roots were firmly planted and his heart forever remained.
Ray attended Rayen High School and later embarked on a fulfilling career, retiring from Intigral Mfg of Austintown. Retirement didn't slow him down; he eagerly transitioned to working alongside his son in the family-owned and operated pizza shop, Pymatuning Pizza, nestled on the shores of Pymatuning Lake.
Ray's zest for life was infectious. His love for fishing led him to his favorite spot, the Rt 14 bridge, where he found solace and joy in the serenity of nature. He also delighted in tinkering with his father's Harley, relishing the freedom of the open road. At home, he was revered for his culinary talents, especially his renowned chili, which warmed the hearts of all who tasted it.
A devoted husband to his wife, Katherine Dodd, and a loving father to his nine children, Ray's legacy extended to his 24 grandchildren, whom he adored beyond measure. His presence illuminated every family gathering, filling the room with laughter and love that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Katherine, and his children: Lisa Doyle and her children Alexander, Samantha, Jonathan, Nathaniel, and Abigail; Raymond (Theresa) Dodd and their children Dreyton, Bryson, and Hayden; Marci (James) Mayotte and their children Alexandria, Emma, Taylor, and Mason; Melissa (James) Gatto and their children Madison, Pamela Grace, James, and Grayson; Cody (Larissa) Ambrose and their children Rylan, Emmy, and Kenzlee; Jason (Erika) Ambrose and their children Kolton and Kayden; Hailey Dodd and her children Jackson and Lucas; Chase Dodd and his son Myles; Bobby Dodd; and stepdaughter Destiny Carter and her son Daemon. He is also survived by his siblings Brenda, Linda, Diane, Michael (Marie), brother-in-law Frank and mother of two of his sons Rose Ambrose.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Delma and Raymond Dodd Sr., his sister Victoria, and his former wife Pamela Saccomen Taggart.
A celebration of Ray's life will be held on Wednesday, June 5th, with visitation from 1-2pm, followed by services at 2pm at the Schiavone Funeral Home on Belmont Ave in Youngstown, OH. Though he may be physically absent, Ray's memory will forever reside in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him
