Russell Davis Obituary

Russell "Rusty" Davis May 13, 1962 – July 2, 2025 God sent us the most precious gift on Mother's Day-Russell (Rusty/Russ) Davis-born May 13, 1962. On July 2, 2025, the Lord called him home after suffering severe injuries from a motorcycle accident. He was 63 years old. Our hearts are broken, and we miss him deeply. Rusty was the most loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. When someone was in need, their first call was often to Rusty-and he never let them down. He was always there for others, especially his family, whom he loved dearly. He spoke with his mother, father and brother on nearly a daily basis, just to touch base or share a story. A 1980 graduate of Hubbard High School, Rusty excelled academically and athletically. He was an accomplished wrestler, winning numerous tournaments and earning First Team honors in the Eastern Ohio Wrestling League for consecutive years. He went on to graduate from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Computer Science. Rusty enjoyed a successful 36-year career in Information Technology. He began as a computer programmer and IT project manager at Bank One and The Limited in Columbus, Ohio. He later worked for Jo-Ann Stores in Hudson, Ohio, as a senior programmer analyst before joining Mercy Health / Bon Secours in Youngstown, Ohio. There, he spent more than 27 years, ultimately serving as an Integration Engineer, leading several major system integrations for newly acquired hospitals. He retired in November 2021, proud of his accomplishments and ready to enjoy more time with family and friends. Rusty loved golfing, spending quality time with family and friends, and riding his Harley. He proudly earned an "Iron Butt" patch for completing a long-distance motorcycle ride across the country within a rigorous time limit-a true testament to his adventurous spirit. Above all, Rusty cherished the bond he shared with his one and only brother, John. Inseparable for 63 years, the two spent countless hours together, sharing laughter, stories, and unforgettable adventures-including many trips to Las Vegas that created lifelong memories. He was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Farrell, Pennsylvania. Rusty was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Morocco; his grandmother, Perrine "Nana" Gorence; his grandparents, Chester and Evelyn Davis; and his stepfather, Kenneth Gianoglio. He was also preceded in death by his uncle, Russell Morocco; his aunt, Olivia Morocco; his uncle, Paul Davis; and his aunt, Sally Davis. He is survived by his mother, Faith M. (Morocco) Gianoglio; his father, John M. Davis, Sr., and his wife, Lois Davis; his brother, John M. Davis, and his wife, Amy; his beloved niece, Livia Davis; his beloved nephew, Logan Davis, and his wife, Ashley; and their daughter, Harper-Rusty's cherished great-niece, as well as several cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rusty's memory may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, PA 16121. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday (07/09/2025) in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, with Rev. Frank DiCristina, as celebrant.
