Ruth E Vasbinder

SOUTHINGTON – Ruth E. Vasbinder, age 82, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Windsor House in Champion of kidney failure. She was born October 6, 1942, the daughter of Andrew Petrulak and Elizabeth (Hatala) Petrulak at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. Ruth was a 1960 graduate of Chalker High School in Southington. She was valedictorian of her class, National Honor Society, and attended Girls State. She loved her daffodil garden, and she collected Avon and stamps. She retired in 2000 after working thirty years for Alcan Aluminum in the corporate accounting department. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Alvie Vasbinder, whom she married on Alvie's birthday, August 27, 1968. She is also survived by sisters Nancy Leeper of Cortland, Sally Petrulak of Massachusetts, and Carol Walden (Tom) of Champion. According to Ruth's wishes, cremation will take place. There will be no calling hours or services. Ruth will be laid to rest next to her mother and father at Southington Reformed Cemetery. Memorial contributions, in the name of Ruth E.
