Sharon Carter Obituary
Ms. Sharon L. Carter took her journey to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Beeghly Oaks in Boardman, OH, surrounded by loved ones. Ms. Carter, was born on April 11, 1952, in Donora, PA. She moved to Youngstown in 1958. She attended South High School. Sharon's love for people led her to a career in healthcare. She worked at Shepard of the Valley Nursing Facility and Boardman Community Health Center for over 20 years. Sharon adored her family and friends and made sure they knew she loved them. She enjoyed watching her soaps, sitting on the porch, having cookouts with friends and family, playing Spades and Dominoes, and going to listen to live Jazz and R & B music. Sharon will be deeply missed and leaves to cherish her memory, her son's Leonard "Dean" Carter, Derek L. Carter, a daughter Shannon L. Carter, her Grandchildren Kendra Lett, Eliot Carter, Leonard Dean Carter Jr, Emmanual Carter, Lenaja Weir, Mylan Martin, Imari Bradley, Chanteera Blackshear, Derek Carter Jr., Nataya Garner and 8 Great Grandchildren. 3 Brother in laws and 6 sisters in laws. A host of close cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and God children, her lifelong friend/Sister Linda Garner, who remained faithfully by Sharon's side throughout her illness. She was preceded in death by her parents Luella Reed Jones and Harry Reed, Grandson Dewayloyn Carter, Wendell Carter, Marie Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Mildred "Cookie" Thomas, and Valerie Carter-Caldwell. Although Sharon is gone in physical form, she lives on in our hearts and thoughts!
