Tammy Hosey Obituary
With heaviness of heart, we publicly share the passing of Tammy Ann Rachele Hosey, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who departed from this life on September 21, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on July 1, 1958, in Alliance, OH, Tammy made her home in Sharon, PA, where she brought warmth and authenticity to the lives of those around her.
A proud graduate of Alliance High School, Tammy's legacy is woven into the fabric of our memories-a tapestry rich with love, laughter, and determination. Tammy dedicated her life to caring for others as a personal care aide at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Retirement Center, where she touched the lives of many with her compassion and unwavering support.
Tammy was revered for her honesty and transparency, consistently sharing her truth while always keeping it real. Her spirit shone brightly in her favorite green, a color that reflected her vibrant personality. A true champion of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tammy found joy in sporting events-be it basketball, baseball, or simply cheering on her favorite teams from her cozy chair. Above all, it was the love for the family, especially her children, that remained at the core of her being.
With an eclectic taste in music, Tammy found solace in the rhythms of jazz, R&B, and rap. She believed in the power of self-care, beautifully maintaining her nails and hair, reminding us all to take time for ourselves amidst life's hustle. She cherished engaging in simple pleasures, like bowling nights, indulging in seafood boils at Red Lobster, and enjoying her daily cup of coffee-extra cream, lots of sugar!
Tammy is lovingly honored by her sons, Lamar Chestnut, Terry Greene, and James Hosey; bonus son Marino Harris; sister, Lia Taylor; cherished niece, Shakira Taylor, who was more like the daughter Tammy never had; and dear nephew/bonus son, Tubby Hosey.
Tammy also leaves precious memories with her sisters/friends Linda "Nucy" Andrews, Rosie Bennett and Cindy Burns. Her legacy will continue to be illuminated via her eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, also with an expansive host of family and friends. Her family was the center of her heart, where laughter echoed and love flourished.
As Tammy crossed the celestial shores, she joins the ancestral gathering of the elders which includes her parents Lena Morris and James Perry; son John B. Hosey III; as well as her siblings Jonathon Watkins and Carla Royster, each who preceded her into eternity.
In remembrance of Tammy's life, a 10:00 AM public viewing will be held at Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon- New Castle Road, Farrell, PA on Thursday October 2, 2025, followed by the Celebration of Life Services at 11:00 AM, with Rev T. James Harrison as hosting celebrant, Rev. James Hosey officiating and Rev. Christal Graham-Jones of Remnant Lighthouse Ministries International as the eulogist.
After a committal ceremony, Tammy will be laid to rest in the tranquil meadows within Morefield Cemetery, in a final goodbye that mirrors her beautiful journey. Though she may no longer be with us, Tammy's spirit will forever linger in our hearts, a lasting reminder to live authentically, love deeply, and keep it real.
