It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne Strishock of Colorado Springs, CO announce his passing on October 15, 2025, at the age of 62.
Born on March 13, 1963, in Youngstown, Ohio, Wayne lived a life marked by devotion, hard work, and joy. When Wayne found something-or someone-he cared about, he poured his whole heart into it; a characteristic that defined his life. In 1979, at the age of 16, he met the love of his life Jean at church camp and stayed by her side for the rest of his life.
Wayne, Jean, and their sons Robert and Daniel settled in Colorado Springs in 1997. There, Wayne spent his career building and creating-as a carpenter, window installer, deck and sunroom builder, and eventually as an Executive Vice President for ConcealFab, where he worked for 20 years before retiring. His creativity and problem-solving spirit shone through in his work designing and building concealment systems for wireless and cell tower infrastructure, helping communities stay connected while keeping technology hidden in plain sight.
Wayne brought the same drive and determination to his passions. He was an avid road cyclist and spent much of his free time on the scenic Rocky Mountain roads, making even the hardest bike races seem easy and fun. He was currently training to ride in the 102-mile El Tour de Tucson race, aiming to improve on his 55th place finish out of 2,600 participants last year.
Service and generosity came naturally to Wayne. A dedicated Boy Scout leader for many years, he spent countless weekends with his sons backpacking, canoeing, and white-water rafting. Whenever someone faced a problem or needed a hand, Wayne was always there to help. From fixing cars, designing and building his own workshop to making furniture and toys for his family and grandchildren, there seemed to be no limit to his energy, ingenuity, and skill. In 2002, his generosity and commitment to others were honored when he was chosen to carry the Olympic Torch through Colorado on its way to the Salt Lake City Winter Games.
Wayne's boundless energy, humor, and love touched everyone he met-but most of all, his family. Nothing brought Wayne more joy than being with his grandchildren, Hadley and Charlie. When Papa Wayne came around, it was like a big kid had joined in. There was no end to the happy screeches and screams that happened when Papa was there.
Wayne will be greatly missed and forever remembered. He was met in Heaven by his parents Donald and Marilyn, and his sister Karrie. His memory and legacy will live on through his beloved wife of nearly 43 years, Jean, their sons Robert and Daniel (Lisa), his pride and joys, grandchildren Hadley and Charlie, brother Don and sister Lori (Jim), and the countless others who knew and loved him.
Wayne's life and legacy will live on through the lives he touched. In honor of his memory, the family requests that donations be made to the
charity of your choice in Wayne's name, or to Kids on Bikes in Colorado Springs. A private celebration of Wayne's life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
