Bruce Boughton Obituary

Bruce Boughton

Bruce Boughton was born May 25, 1950 in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Frank Boughton and Margaret Quackenbush. He passed away at his ranch, near Lake Shastina, on October 22, 2009, as a result of cancer. Bruce's family moved to Fullerton, California in the early 1950s, because it had a more favorable climate in which to treat his polio. After a full recovery from his illness, Bruce proved himself to be as rough and rowdy as his three older brothers, Frank, Tom and David, and a real protector of his younger sister, Rose Marie. Bruce traveled during his high school summers when he and his friend, Scott, hitch hiked through much of the United States. Bruce married Vicki Moore and moved to Central Point, Oregon in 1978, where they had sons Matt, Kevin and Chris. Bruce divorced and married Carol Tungate, and they had a daughter, Stacey. Later Bruce divorced and married Mary Noe. He retired after 25 years of driving for United Grocers and moved to Montague. After Mary's passing, Bruce married Pam Wells on October 7, 2006. Pam and Bruce enjoyed ranching, traveling and being with family.

Bruce was preceded in death by his sons, Kevin and Chris, and his wife, Mary. He is survived by his mother and father, brothers and sister, son, Matt, daughter, Stacey, his wife, Pam, and his roping horse, Petunia.

Bruce will long be remembered by his family and friends as a man who worked hard, played hard and loved much. Although he endured many hardships in his life, he was quick with a smile and laugh.

Bruce and his wife, Pam, are eternally grateful for the support they received from Madrone Hospice. Donations may be made to them in memory of Bruce.

A memorial service will be held at Girdner's Funeral Chapel, 202 South Oregon Street, Yreka, California at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009.
