Roger Johansen Obituary

Roger Johansen

Roger Johansen, 50, of Medford, passed away on December 10, 2007. He was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on June 19, 1957 and has resided in Medford for the past 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Phyllis Johansen. He is survived by his two brothers of Medford, Frank Johansen and Glenn Johansen. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Johansen of Carson City, Nev.

Roger owned and kept up the family printing business, Budget X-Press. He was a colorful character who helped many down and out people by giving them work at his print shop. He reached out to them because he had been there. He had a passion for music, playing drums in bands and jam sessions with his brother, Frank. He was also an avid reader of history, an expert in the strategies of World War II and enjoyed debating politics late into the night. He is deeply missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2008, at the Medford Congregational United Church of Christ, 1801 E. Jackson St, Medford. The family would also like to invite all who knew and played with Roger to participate in a music jam and a Celebration of his Life at Whiskey River, 6463 Table Rock Rd., on Saturday, January 12, 2008 from 5-8 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to: Johansen Family, P.O. Box 1072, Medford, OR 97501

To Alice, Frank, Glenn, and Karen:
Roger and Alice told me many times I had much more to offer humanity than I was giving. Thank you for those words, encouragement, and persistence. Frank, thank you for your friendship.

Our deepest condolences for the Johansen family.
Roger had a huge heart. I had the pleasure of meeting his mom and dad before they passed, the legacy that they passed on to Roger was to help those in need. You will be missed by Jamison. We hope you get the Led Zeplin stickers we are sending Frank for you. May you have peace.

To my friend Roger,
You will be missed by many. My deepest sympathy goes out to those who were closest to you, Alice, Frank, Karen and Glenn. I hope and pray you can seek refuge from our Heavenly Father during this time of confusion, for peace, over this senseless happening.
