Todd Evans passed away unexpectedly at his home at the age of 60 after 30 years of fighting diabetes. Todd was born and lived his entire life in Medford, Oregon, except for a couple of years in Wasilla, Alaska where he and good friend Bruce Corson operated a restaurant.

Todd graduated from Medford Senior High School in 1980, and subsequently attended Oregon State University where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

Todd is survived by his daughter, Emily Marie Evans, the mother of his daughter, Deanie Pearson Giuliani, father Jerry Evans, mother Linda Latourette Evans, brother Kirk Evans, uncle Ed Latourette, and aunt Susan Eastgate.

Todd was a very talented athlete. As a senior in high School, he was a starting linebacker for the Medford Black Tornadoes football team which was ranked No. 1 in the state for almost every week of the season. He was an avid skier who raced for many years in races throughout the Northwest. His love for skiing began as a 5-year-old at Mount Ashland which led to him ultimately becoming a high school state champion ski racer. One of his fond memories was skiing with his father and uncle in the French Alps, but you could often him racing down the slopes of Mount Ashland. Todd also took great pleasure in white-water rafting as a river raft guide down the Rogue River and many others.

Most of Todd's working career consisted of 45 years assisting his family in operating their family restaurant, the Jacksonville Inn. His love for cuisine and hospitality was a major influence throughout the duration of his life. Todd took pride in the fact that in the course of his work, he met many dignitaries such as two U. S. Presidents and Newt Gingrich.

After his passing, hundreds of condolences were received from all over the world expressing love and admiration for his willingness to help others in need and for his humor. He truly was a kind, compassionate, and caring person. His family and friends will continue to carry on his legacy, and he will be dearly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at the Roxy Ann Winery on Saturday, October 15, at 1 p.m. While not necessary, an rsvp at jlevans@usa.com would be helpful.
