HARTLAND -- Aloha J. Goodnow of Banning, Calif., and Hartland, passed away on April 30, 2009, in San Bernardino, Calif., surrounded by her loving husband and family.
She was born in Toronto on Dec. 5, 1932. Aloha came to the States in 1960 and became a naturalized citizen. She pursued a career in home decorating and was considered an expert in the field. In 2002 she came to Maine and purchased an old home in Dexter and turned it into a palace.
It was there she met the love of her life, Malcolm "Mac" Goodnow. They were married on Feb. 21, 2003. Aloha always had a smile on her face and had a personality that was unique.
Besides her husband, Mac Goodnow of Hartland and Banning, she is survived by two daughters, Terry Shmidt and her husband, Herb, of San Bernardino and Jan Butler and her husband, Ron, of Crestline, Calif.; and one son, James Aitkins and his wife, Michelle, of Riverside, Calif. She is sadly missed by all her friends and family.
A memorial will take place June 6 in San Bernardino. Arrangements were by Island Memorial Mortuary, Colton, Calif.
