Calvin Dickey Obituary
1956 - 2015
WATERVILLE - Calvin Wayne Dickey, 58, of Augusta, died on Aug. 9, 2015, in Waterville, after a long illness. He was born in Waterville on Nov. 16, 1956, to Ralph and Marilyn (Sawtelle) Dickey.
Calvin was a very special person with many impressive attributes. He was well-known for his extraordinary memory, even recalling the dates of childhood incidents, purchases, birthdays, and just about anything anyone asked. He enjoyed music and had an extensive collection of records and cassette tapes. He also liked Yahtzee and word search puzzles. Calvin was a very thoughtful and considerate person.
He was predeceased by his father, Ralph R. Dickey; and his grandparents Everett and Beatrice (Webb) Dickey and Arthur and Ruth (Fotter) Sawtelle. He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Dickey of Augusta; two sisters and two brothers: Brenda York and her husband Lloyd of Oakland, (Ralph) Michael Dickey and his wife Linda of Waterville, Cheryl Dickey-Whitish of Clinton and Charles Dickey and his wife Carolee of Albion. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Julie York, Jessica Landberg, Steven York, Amanda Smith, Zachary Dickey, Ben Whitish, Crystal Langley, Josiah Whitish, Tiffany Taylor, Craig Belanger and Hilary Robertson; as well as many great-nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles; and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Aug. 14, at 9 a.m. at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta. Services under the care and direction of Redington Funeral Home, 5 Park St., Waterville.
