Claudia Pelletier
1951 - 2017
NEWPORT - Claudia Ann Pelletier (Lasak), 66, passed away on June 1, 2017, at her home in Newport. She was born on Jan. 13, 1951. in Detroit, Mich. to parents Leonard and Jean (Smith) Lasak.
Claudia attended Lima Central Catholic High School in Lima, Ohio and later went on to graduate from Henry Ford Community College with a degree in nursing. In 1985, she moved to Maine where she worked as a dedicated nurse for more than 30 years. She continued to nurse and care for the elderly until her death.
Claudia was an energetic woman who loved music, animals and the outdoors. She had a particular affinity for winter activities and enjoyed snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and ice skating. She was also an avid reader and would rarely be seen without her latest novel.
Claudia is survived by her three children, Elizabeth Ward (Mathew), Meghan Foley-Cionek (Scott), Adam Foley (Tiffany); four grandchildren, Matix, Zoie, Xavier and Willa; siblings, Marcia Zupan (Michael), Jeffery Lasak (Elizabeth), David Lasak (Deborah), Keith Lasak, and Timothy Lasak; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Claudia is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Jean; and brother, Michael Lasak.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on June 8 at 45 CMD Dr. Albion, ME 04910. All are welcome to attend. Please visit www.veilleuxfuneralhome.com to share condolences, memories and tributes with Claudia's family.

"Grammie Claudie" will always be fondly remembered for her wit and humour, as well as her no nonsense, get to it approach about things. I love sharing with Matix and Zoie, the time she and I helped move them to Maine. Two weeks of packing and lots of fun! We have enjoyed many family moments together and we will miss her.
