1931-2014
WINTHROP - Connie Rowley, 82, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014, surrounded by her loved ones.
Connie was born in Staten Island, N.Y., on May 28, 1931. She was the daughter of John and Eleanor Mojecki. Connie grew up in Staten Island, then moved with her family to Ayer, Mass., where she graduated from Ayer High School in 1949.
Connie married Roger W. Rowley in 1952. During their loving marriage, they had four children and moved around New England because of Roger's active military status. They finally settled in Winthrop in 1958. After moving to Winthrop, Connie worked as the crossing guard for the community's youth, a dispatcher for the Winthrop police department, and she retired from the telephone company in 1981 to enjoy and care for her grandchildren. Connie's love for her family was immeasurable and was her first priority. She enjoyed nature, playing bingo and cards, and spending time outside on her rocking glider while visiting with her special neighbors, Scott and Amanda Duchette, and their two children, Adelaide and Winston. She had a strong love for animals, especially her cat Missy, and always enjoyed a nice John Wayne movie.
Connie was predeceased by her husband, Roger W. Rowley; her youngest son, William Rowley; her parents; and her five older siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Candy Everett, husband, Bob Everett, and their children, Israel, Jake and Miranda Everett, and her boyfriend, Michael McInnis, of Winthrop; her daughter, Diana Noble, and her husband, Gilbert Noble, of Muncie, Ind.; her son, Roger Rowley, and his girlfriend, Judy Staples, of Manchester; her daughter-in-law and grandchildren of her late son, William Rowley, Michelle Rowley, Kara Rowley, of Monmouth, and Nicholas Rowley, and his wife, Mary Rowley, of Fayette.
Connie was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a compassionate woman who would do anything for others and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In celebration of Connie's life, relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. A private family graveside service will take place later in the spring at Glenside Cemetery, Winthrop.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make donations in Connie's memory may donate to Pals No-Kill Cat Shelter, 188 Case Road, Winthrop, ME 04264.
Memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of our website at www.khrfuneralhomes.com.
