Danielle Oxley-Pantier Obituary

ALTA, Iowa -- Danielle Stormy Dawn Oxley, 20, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, in Alta. Her daughter, Piper Christine Oxley-Pantier, 1, died Oct. 19 at Avera-McKenna Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. Both passed away because of injuries suffered in a tragic accident.

Danielle was born in Waterville, Maine, on April 3, 1988, daughter of Dale Oxley and Christine Dall. Piper was born in Laramie, Wyo., on Aug. 28, 2007, to Danielle Oxley and Riley Pantier. Shortly after losing both her parents, Danielle joined the family of Doug, Becky and Brittany Oxley of Vassalboro, where she spent the next nine years of her life.

Danielle attended grade school at Vassalboro Community School and graduated from Erskine Academy in 2006. Danielle was involved in choir, various sports and clubs at Erskine. Other hobbies that she enjoyed were horseback riding, snowmobiling and other outdoor activities. Danielle always looked forward to snowmobiling and camping trips with various aunts, uncles and cousins. One of the most cherished events that Danielle was involved in is Christmas Care Day, in memory of her father, at the Vassalboro Credit Union.

Danielle was a very outgoing and friendly person who knew how to put a smile on everyone's face. She cared a lot about all of the people around her and would do anything for anyone. Danielle left an unforgettable impression on every person whom she came across.

Although the Oxley family never got the opportunity to meet and hold Piper, they were told all about her as she grew up. She was a tiny bundle of joy that was always happy and laughing.

Danielle was predeceased by her father, Dale Oxley of Vassalboro; mother Christine Dall of Wyoming; her grandmother of Vassalboro, Nancy Oxley; and her grandfather of Wyoming, Rolland Dall. Danielle is survived by her fiancé, Nate Frank of Iowa; grandfather William Oxley of Vassalboro; grandmother Ora Dall of Washington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Piper was predeceased by her mother, Danielle Oxley of Wyoming; grandfather Dale Oxley of Vassalboro; and grandmother Christine Dall of Wyoming. Piper is survived by her father, Riley Pantier of Wyoming; and grandparents Dan and Vicky Johnston, and Rick and Jolene Pantier of Wyoming.

Visiting hours will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home-Winslow Chapel, 173 China Road in Winslow.

Following the visiting hours there will be a ceremony to celebrate the lives of Danielle and Piper. The family will proceed to the cemetery, and anyone wishing to attend a social after the ceremony may meet at the VFW hall on Veteran's Drive in Winslow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christmas Care Day Charitable Fund at the Vassalboro Credit Union in honor of both Danielle and Piper. Condolences may be expressed at www.lawrybrothers.com. Arrangements are by Lawry Brothers Funeral Home-Winslow Chapel, 173 China Road, Winslow.

Oxley Family,

Having known the family for many years I was shocked to hear of this tragedy... Words can not express how very sad I am to here of your loss. It seems like yesterday that I was baby sitting Danielle for Dale, and it wasnt long ago that she was sitting for my very own children.
I am very sorry for the loss of Danielle and Piper. May the love of family and friends carry you through your grief at this sad time. May your tears turn to smiles as you think of all the good memories of Danielle and Piper...

I don't even know what to say except I am so very sorry. I remember taking care of Dale when Danielle came to visit. She brought so much joy to her father and then later on to the rest of the family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I just keep thinking she is now with both of her parents telling them how good her childhood ended up being with the loving Oxley family.
Love Always,
