It is with a deep feeling of loss that I read about Donna's passing. She and I were good friends for so many years--dating to our time teaching at Windsor Elementary School to later years when we were both "retired".We shared emotional attachments to all animals, especially dogs. Nature in general was an other love of ours. Donna was a person of strong convictions which she believed in expressing and living by.I admired her and she in turn was a great supporter and believer in my teaching approach. She was a soft and gentle human being. I will miss her very much!

It was a great honor and privilege to be a student in Mrs. Murch's classes at Windsor Elementary School. A few years later, I was lucky enough to meet her again as a babysitter for Lisa, caring for Josh and Jenny. I loved the many conversations over tea in her kitchen on the Barton Road in her house across the street from Jeff & Claudette. She was so proud of her beautiful family. Over the years, I was privileged to care for four of her grandchildren Josh, Jenny, Garrett and Aubrey. Her legacy lives on in all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a beautiful soul and loving lady that I will never forget. My heart and prayers are with all her family during this difficult time.

It may not be possible to be a kinder person than my grandmother, Donna Murch. She touched in a consequentially positive way countless people (and dogs!), even inspiring envy of her popularity. Gram was a parent as well as a grandparent for me, and I will never forget how much I owe her. It is sad I can't call her from Washington anymore, but maybe I'll see her again some day. -Garrett Murch (Washington, DC)
