Doris M. (Caron) Corbin
1936 - 2017
WATERVILLE - Doris M. (Caron) Corbin, 81, passed away March 6, 2017, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, surrounded by her family.
She was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Winslow, the daughter of Josephat and Mary Jeanne (Rodrigue) Corbin. She was educated in the schools of Waterville and graduated from Waterville High School in 1955. On August 18, 1956, she married Fernand R. Corbin at Notre Dame Church in Waterville. She helped run a poultry farm in Benton from 1964 to 1981. She was a member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church, member of the choir at St. Francis, and volunteer at Thayer Hospital in the doll factory. She also was a choir member at St. John's in Winslow and a member of Lady of St. Anne's. Doris enjoyed making dolls for ill children, swimming, singing, shopping at consignment shops, running church meetings and Bible studies.
Doris is survived by her husband of 60 years, Fernand R. Corbin, of Waterville; daughter Anna Jean Burns and husband Robert, of Clinton; granddaughter, Rose Marie, of Gorham; grandson, Alton "George" Burns, of Clinton; brother, Robert Caron and wife Donna, of Benton; six nephews, Robert Caron Jr., Paul Caron, Brian Corbin, Kenney Corbin, Kevin Corbin, and Michael Corbin; two nieces, Jill Caron and Laurie Dennis; son-in-law, Robert A. Burns Jr; and brothers-in-law, Maurice and Gerry Corbin, both of Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame de Lourdes in Waterville. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
