Florence Forbes Obituary
She was born April 18, 1911, in Norridgewock, the daughter of Miles and Albertha (Annett) Dickinson. Mrs. Forbes enjoyed family gatherings and had many hobbies, including flower gardening, crocheting, decorating, making quilts and traveling.
She is survived by one son and three daughters, William Forbes and his wife, Warrena, of Washburn, Gloria Flannery and her husband, Ruel, of Fort Fairfield, Phyllis Anderson of Orange City, Fla., and Janet Erickson and her husband, Richard, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Forbes was predeceased by her husband, William E. Forbes, in 1986, after 55 years of marriage; and three sons, Philip W. Forbes in 2004, Donald C. Forbes in 2000 and Richard Z. Forbes in 1937.
At her request, there will be no services at this time. Friends and relatives are invited to attend graveside services in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou, at a time and date to be announced by Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou. Friends wishing to remember Florence in a special way may make donations to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 87 Elm St., Camden, ME 04783. Dear Bill, Gloria, Phyllis and Jannett, I was so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. Yes, you had many years with her and now have many fond memories I am sure. Our God is the giver of peace and comfort and there will be a time when you are reunited. A memory I have of your Mother was when I was about 3 years old and staying with your Mother in the white house across the river, my mom and dad had taken Dad to Boston to the hospital, I believe. Anyway the memory is of your Mother polishing my black patent leather shoes with vasoline., sitting me on the kitchin stool and telling me to stay there so I would not get dirty before my Mother came to get me. It surely is funny the things we remember. God bless all of you.
