DETROIT - Frank N. Ring, 74, died on Friday, June 15, 2018, surrounded by his loving family in Bangor.
Frank was born on Feb. 19, 1944, in Buffalo, N.Y. He owned and operated his own carpentry business for over 10 years. He was then employed for many years as a bridge superintendent, and was a valuable employee working for several different companies.
Frank loved to be surrounded by his family and friends. His original sense of humor was what made him a legend in his own right. He was always the life of the party. He enjoyed stock car racing, hunting and fishing. He coached baseball when his kids were young, and enjoyed watching them learn to ski at the Pinnacle. He was a member of the Sebasticook Valley Elks Lodge #2713, in Pittsfield.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lori Ring, of Detroit; children, Ellen Ames and husband, Michael, of Pittsfield, Karen Ladd and companion, Thayne McDonald, of Unity, Tyler Ring and wife, Shannon, of Pittsfield and Brandon Ring and wife, Carolyn, of Stanley, N.D.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Brackett; mother-in-law, Valerie Varney; brothers-in-law, Mark Bickford and Scott Varney and wife, Rochelle; sister-in-law, Madalyn Ring; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Vernal and Vivian Salley; son, David Ring; and brother, John Ring.
The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m., with a funeral service at 1 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A committal will directly follow at the Village Cemetery, Peltoma Avenue, Pittsfield. All are welcome to attend a gathering at the Masonic Hall, Hamilton Terrace, Pittsfield.
