FREDERICK COTE Obituary

WATERVILLE -- Frederick J. Cote, 89, passed away on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 at Mount St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Waterville. He was born in Waterville on Feb. 1, 1924, a son of Emile and Lena Cote.

Mr. Cote was employed as a custodian by Waterville Senior High School for many years until his retirement.

He was a communicant of Corpus Christi Parish at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Frederick greatly enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching hockey and baseball; the Boston Bruins and Red Sox were his favorite teams. He also had a great love for his pets. He always put his family first and took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frederick was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Frederick was predeceased by his parents; his first wife and mother of his children, Floraine Cote; and by a son, Richard "Dicky" Cote; a daughter, Rose Marie "Rosie" Crosby; and a sister, Dorothy Fuller. He is survived by his second wife, Theresa Cote; three children: Jean Thibodeau and husband Norman, of Van Buren, John Cote and wife Kathy, of Waterville, and Lena Poulin and husband Leo, of Benton; two stepchildren: Linda Cloutier and husband Robert Sr., and Alan Caron and wife Nancy; eight grandchildren: Jason, Adam and Rachel Crosby, Amy Gagnon, Ryan Burgess, Crystal Rancourt, Jennifer Pare and Shawn Poulin; six great-grandchildren: Ethan, Matthew, Jacob, Dominic, Gabrielle and Garrett; and many beloved stepgrandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at Veilleux Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Waterville, with committal to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frederick's memory to Mount St. Joseph's Activity Fund, 7 Highwood St., Waterville, ME 04901; or the Waterville Area Humane Society, 100 Webb Road, Waterville, ME 04901.
