Frederick Dute Obituary
1951 - 2016
TOPSHAM - Frederick H. Dute, 65, of 2 Somerset Place, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at his home. He was born, August 6, 1951, in Phoenixville, Pa., the son of Harold A. and Dona J. Dute. He was a graduate and football star of the Newark High School Yellowjackets in Newark, Del. and graduated from Missouri Valley College. He married Victoria A. Cyr in Fairfield, June 3, 1977, in a beautiful ceremony in the Julia family auction barn.
Fred was a Senior Planner at Bath Iron Works for 28 years and recently retired in October. His pile of books always held at least one Stephen King or Vonnegut title, and he spent hours with his Martin guitar. The chords would sing through the halls of his home in Maine and he would almost always follow it up with a little-known tidbit of history about the song, band, or album. His tales of Woodstock were a favorite and he looked forward to and loved his time vacationing with his family in the Caribbean.
He will live on in the hearts of his wife Victoria and two loving daughters, Christen Dute and her husband Tyler Derryberry of Somerville, Mass. and Courtney Dute of Ashville, NC; and his mother of Vineland, NJ and two brothers, Paul Dute of Elmer, NJ and Robert Dute and his wife Mary Ann of Downingtown, Pa.
Friends may visit from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016.

It's been a long time since we enjoyed the company of you and Fred, but those old times are certainly etched in my memory. You were a great coworker and Fred was your fantastic husband and a good friend. We had some great times together and I think about them often. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the kids.
