Germaine Carpenter Obituary

WATERVILLE -- Germaine "Mim" Rita Carpenter, 67, beloved wife, daughter, mother, memere, grandmemere and friend to all who knew her, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, after a long illness.

She was born on July 9, 1938, in Hartford, Conn., a daughter of Oscar and Adeline (Champagne) Gagne.

She was married on Oct. 30, 1954, to Donald Joseph Carpenter. Germaine was cherished by all of her family and friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Germaine loved the simple pleasures in her life, such as bingo, classic movies, fried smelts and her family.

Perhaps the greatest milestone in Germaine's life was the incredible love that she shared with her husband, Donald, who will deeply miss her until they are together again.

She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Oscar Gagne; and two brothers, Dana and Raymond (Mern). Germaine is survived by her devoted and beloved husband, Donald J. Carpenter; her mother, Adeline (Champagne) Gagne; her children, David, Darrell, Donna, Dana, Duane and Dale; grandchildren Felicia, Selena, Lisa, Dana, Ian, Ryan, Kayla, Sonny, Jessica, John, Harley, Brandon and Banyon; great-grandchildren Titiana, Anthony, Hope, Seguin, Shivianni, Willow and Stephen; a brother, Gerard Gagne; and a sister, Theresa Hunter.

Visiting hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Waterville.

although i didn't really get the opportunity to spend as much time with meme and pepe as i would of liked to. she was still very important and could always find a way to make me laugh. I know its hard that shes gone, but she is no longer in pain and thats what matter. shes in a better place and someday we will all be there to meet her and share more times that i wish i could have shared with her while i could. Pepe, be strong - i love you. RIP meme you'll always be in our hearts. and like you asked of me the last time i saw you - i will never forget you.
