Unfortunately I did not meet Big Jim until the final year of his life. However being a Son of the American Revolution which means that my ancestor did actually fight in the American Revolutiion directly under George Washington I have developed a very keen sense of a true patriot who loves God, family and country. Right off the bat I knew Big Jim personified this as he greated me with a giant smile and told me some wild story of how as a 18 year old in the Korean War the rumor had it that the evil leader of North Korea was being held by the USA on this tiny island where he was stationed with just a few hundred of US military personnel. Top brass told them to defend the island from the waves of them that would come similar to Inchon. So under full knowledge Big Jim and his men grabbed everything they could to pile up on the coast to try to hold off the eventual certain overrun and death. Well dawn broke and the radio annouced this all was just a rumor! Big Jim chuckled. We shared Army humor. We're only free because of guys like you Big Jim that realize the whole picture that this is one big American family and you are wiling to sacrafice your life in an instance for that. So live, laugh and love everybody everyday as though you may never see them again. I'm still riding around with this stupid putting game I bought to play with you the weekend before God and Jesus called you to a bigger battle that only they know about. Thanks chief your family is doing fine but they all miss you. Over and out see ya later!

My sister Patty & all of Jim's Family & Friends,
We met in the 3rd grade at North Grammar. We played ball together all through High School. Went into the Army together as Military Police. He was the best & loyal friend I ever had on this earth & I feel such a loss & can only imagine the hurt you all feel.
I am so grateful for the quality time we spent together during our lifetime & with you all the last few days.
At your call. In Christ, Brother Ron & Janet

Patty and Family. I was shocked and saddened to learn of Big Jim's passing. You and your family have lost a great guy and I have lost a former West Street neighbor and fishing buddy..We never caught much worth keeping but I always had fun..
I will miss seeing him buying his scratch tickets at Galusha's. Take Care, Patty.
Rest in Peace Big Jim....Gail B.
