Jane Dolan Obituary

Jane E. Dolan
1933 - 2015
RANDOLPH - Jane E. Dolan, age 82, of Randolph, died on Aug. 11, 2015, at her home. She was born in Lewiston, on March 16, 1933, the daughter of Mervyn (Mike) and Ruby Hatch.
In 1946, the Hatch family moved to West Gardiner where Jane and her sister Patty attended the local two-room schoolhouse. Summers were spent at the family camp on Woodbury Pond in Litchfield.
Jane graduated from Gardiner High School and the Beverly Hospital School of Nursing in Beverly, Mass.
In August of 1959, Jane married Leon Wallace of Gardiner. They lived and worked in Lewiston. Before Leon's death in 1964, they enjoyed golf, skiing and time at their camp that Leon built with the help of family and friends.
On Oct. 3, 1968, Jane and G. James (Jim) Dolan were married in Gardiner at the home of long-time friends Alton and Jessie Cobb, and sons David and Brian. Jim died on March 25, 2007, after 39 years of marriage to Jane. They lived in the Dolan home in Gardiner until 1976 when they purchased a home in Randolph.
Until her retirement Jane worked at several hospitals and doctor's offices. Following retirement, Jane and Jim spent summers at their camp on Woodbury Pond and wintered in Florida, stopping to enjoy many sights along the way.
Jane is survived by her sister Patricia Reed of Florida; nephews Jim and Bill Challis of Georgia, and niece Dawn Meyer of Georgia. Also surviving are David Cobb of Randolph and Brian Cobb of Scarborough, whom they treated like family and followed them since birth.
At Jane's request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral. Graveside service will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Gardiner on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, Gardiner.

We think of Jane and Jim so often. We enjoyed our evenings together going out to eat and sharing time at home. Always a good time together w/tales of travels and lots of laughter. We wish Patty and the Cobb family our best and remember them fondly thru Janes stories. Jim worked w/Jane at Togus.

We will miss Jane's wonderful smile and great stories. She was my mother Hope's beloved friend. They shared so much of their lives together thru all their joys and sorrows. Will think of them together once again and with their husbands that they have so missed. Our hearts go out to her family in this difficult time.
