Jared was a 1985 graduate of Winthrop High School and attended New England School of Broadcasting in Bangor.
He had been employed by CMC Technology Group and had previously worked at On Target and Capitol Computers in Augusta. He had also been employed by Maranacook Community High School as a soccer and lacrosse coach.
Jared enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed coaching soccer, hockey and lacrosse, shopping and dancing with Lauren, and playing sports with Mike. He loved music, dancing, playing guitar and spending time at the lake boating and playing with the kids.
Jared was predeceased by his father, Roger A. Knowlton.
He is survived by his son, Michael R. Knowlton, of Topsham; his daughter, Lauren E. Knowlton, of Topsham; his life-long partner, Melissa (Schultze) Knowlton, of Topsham; his mother, Tina (Conley) Knowlton, of Northport, Fla.; his stepmother, Nancy Pratt-Knowlton, of Mechanic Falls; his brother, Jeffrey R. Knowlton, and his wife, Jane, of Rochester, N.H.; a niece, Jessica Knowlton; and two nephews, Justin Knowlton and Braeden Landry.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff of Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice for the care and compassion they showed to Jared and the family at this difficult time.
Following cremation, there will be a gathering of family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, where a memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Manchester Forks Cemetery, Manchester.
Those who desire may make donations in Jared's memory to Awesome Bear Society, c/o Maranacook Community High School, 2250 Millard Harrison Drive, Readfield, ME 04355-3573.

I'm blessed to have met Jared.
When he spoke, it was always out of love and understanding for everyone in his life. He adored and worried about his children. He was grateful to have Melissa present and understanding. He was a kind and gentle soul.

Jared never had a nothing but a smile on his face every time I met him and he always took the time to stop and chat for a minute or two.
