Joan Sirois Obituary
1935 - 2017
AUGUSTA - Joan T. Sirois, 81, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at the MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center at Glenridge following a long illness. She was born in Van Buren on June 1, 1935, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Leda (Gorneau) Ouellette.
Mrs. Sirois was a homemaker for most of her life and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Tony Trask. Mrs. Sirois is survived by her husband of 64 years, Romeo A. Sirois of Augusta; seven children: Jeanne Donahue and her husband Roy of Palermo, Linda Cyr and her husband Ronald of Somerville, Richard Sirois and his wife Terri of Bowdoinham, Susan Trask of Augusta, Diane Sirois of Chelsea, Brenda Arnold and her husband Scott of Chelsea and Debra Demos and her husband Michael of Chelsea; a brother, Russell Ouellette and his wife Ruth of California; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and aunt, Lillian Masse of Winslow; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the caregivers at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center at Glenridge for the outstanding care and compassion shown to Joan and the family during her time there.
Relatives and friends may visit on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 9-11 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial and committal prayers will be held in the spring in Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Rd., Augusta.
