I served with John in the 286th S&S Bn a long time ago. John was a great soldier and would go the extra mile to help out whenever he could. I havn't seen John in years but think back often of those times and remember him as a good person and a great soldier. REST IN PEACE, JOHN

John was very sweet and unassuming. I went to high school with John but didn't know him well then. Got to know him better when we worked together at DOT and feel blessed that I did. I am so sorry that he is gone but glad that I was able to know him while he was here.

When I started at DOT in May of '77 John was already here. Shortly after I started Peter Brown was hired and the three of us spent the next several years together at DOT sharing our experience and life's experiences. Eventually we all went our separate ways, but once upon a time the three of us were a sort of a team; young, starting careers and families, dealing with successes and failures. John, I will always remember when we were young and will forever call you my friend.

There are tons of reminders of you everywhere. I still have your hand written queries hanging on my wall at work. You always had time to help me figure out the tough ones. You were one of the most easy going people I knew and I sure will miss you. I lost my father to cancer and feel so sorry for your family and their loss.

My prayers and condolences to John's family; he left this mortal place way too soon. John and I crossed paths many times at MaineDOT. I always saw a man dedicated to his work, knowledgeable, serious, kind, and unassuming. He will surely be missed by all those who knew him. Rest-In-Peace John!

I was shocked to learn this from Cathy Kinney. We all grew up in Gardiner and graduated together. John and I worked at Cottle's supermarket and enjoyed many times together at his house. The last time I saw John was at his office in Augusta doing accident reports. I even helped out just to pass the time while home on leave from the Air Force. I was hoping to see John at our 40th class reunion this year. I am so sorry for his passing and hope he suffered little.

RIP John! I served with John in the 286th S&S Bn. He was a great soldier, team player, dependable and a go-to guy when you needed the job done right and fast. I haven't seen John in a long time but have good memories of his dedication to family and the Army. My deepest condolences to the family.
