1928-2014
EDGECOMB - Keith Bachelder, 86, of Boothbay Road, died unexpectedly Monday, April 7, 2014 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, with his family by his side.
He was born on March 7, 1928 in Belgrade, a son of Clyde A. and Ada A. (Fowler) Bachelder.
He grew up in Belgrade and moved to Wiscasset where he graduated from Wiscasset Academy in 1946. On Sept. 7, 1951, he married Beatrice R. Jackson and served in the Army for two years. He was employed by Central Maine Power Co. for 42 years as an operations engineer at the Mason Station, retiring on March 30, 1989.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being a Ham radio operator and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice R. Bachelder, on Feb. 20, 2003; and two sisters, Leah Merrow and Verle Caton.
He is survived by two sons, Kim Allen Bachelder and his wife, Deborah, of Edgecomb, and Dana Paul Bachelder and his wife, Linda, of Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Gary Bachelder, of Woolwich; one sister, Frances Murray, of Wiscasset; two grandchildren, Janice E. Bachelder, and Matthew A. Bachelder and his wife, Melissa; and two great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at Highland Cemetery in Edgecomb at a later date.

Kim and Deb, sorry to hear of KB' s passing. He was a wonderful guy and I always looked forward to his visits to Island Falls, especially during fiddleheading season, and talking about the good old days.Mom and Dad talked often about their trip to Arizona and their time spent in Tucson with your father and mother. Praying for you all at this time of sorrow and loss.

Kim and Dana I,m sure you know he felt like a second Dad to me...we spent our childhoods with so many memories of fun times together with your Mom and Dad and my folks. It feels like such a great loss without them. Kim and Dana my heart goes out to you at this time. Love you, please keep in touch. He was a wonderful proud man and will be greatly missed.

My deepest sympathy for your lost grandma. I pray that the LORD comforts you with his loving grace in these dark times.
