Lee Staples Obituary
Lee was a graduate of Cony High School. He was employed as a tractor-trailer driver for many years before retiring. Lee loved fishing in the summer, trucking, country music, dancing, spending time with his grandkids and hanging out by the fireplace. He had a special dog, Jules, whom he loved very much and continued to ask for before his passing.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet Staples, of Gardiner; three daughters, Wanda Staples, Lisa Spencer and Karen Staples; two brothers, Eddie Staples and Stanley Staples; and four sisters, Brenda Morse, Sandra Cooley, June Staples and Linda Weston. He had a special friend, Elsie; three grandchildren, Shawn Staples, Ashley Staples and Corey Hall; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Staples, Cody Staples and Austin Hall.
He also had many many beloved family members from the Brunswick and Lewiston areas.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 3, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Christ Church Episcopal Gardiner. Burial will be later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing in Lewiston to help find a cure. 7175592

Janet, i am not sure we ever met but i have fond memories of lee with his warmth, passion and affection for you and his family, which he always expressed very clearly. He certainly died "long before his time" and my condolences to you and the extended family.

I remember when he used to come into the Big Apple on Civic Ctr Dr. in Augusta man the jokes he used to tell me he always made my day. My heart goes out to all the family.
