WINSLOW - Roberta (Watson) Libby, 90, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 12, 2016. She was born in Auburn on Aug. 7, 1925, to John and Madelyn (Fletcher) Watson and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1943. In 1947, Roberta graduated from Bates College and married Horace Libby on July 19, 1947. They were married for 68 years. They made their home in Freeport where Roberta taught in the Freeport School System for 23 years.

After retiring from teaching, she worked in the payroll department at L.L.Bean until retiring in 1987. Roberta and Horace enjoyed traveling and took many trips to such places as Alaska in their motor home, Hawaii, St. Maarten, Europe , and a cross-country trip to California and back.

They also wintered in Florida for 15 years. For 10 years Roberta and Horace lived in Yarmouth before moving to Winslow in 2002.

Mrs. Libby was predeceased by sister, Janet Watson, and brother, Henry Watson. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, John Watson (Ann) of Auburn; her daughters, Wendy Nutting (Robert) of Oakland and Cathy Brann of Topsham; four grandchildren, Cheri Nutting (Michael Briggs) of Marlborough, N.H., Jeffrey Michaud (Jennifer) of Topsham, Christine Nutting of Waterville, and Steven Nutting (Elizabeth) of Oakland; and seven great-grandchildren, Billy Potter, Anna and Eliza Briggs, Keely and Stella Nutting, and Nolan and Miles Michaud.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
