Tamela Andrews Obituary

Tamela Mary Andrews
1959 - 2015
SKOWHEGAN - Tamela Mary Andrews, 55, passed away on April 3, 2015, and was reunited in Heaven with her beloved mother Jane Andrews. Tamela "Tammie," was born in Reno, Nev., on Oct. 12, 1959, the daughter of Clayton "Ed" and Jane Ann (Damon) Andrews. She was raised in Bingham, graduated from Upper Kennebec Valley Memorial High School in 1977, and then from Beals College.
Tammie was predeceased by her mother and best friend, Jane Andrews; her paternal grandparents Clayton "Spike" and Alice (Havey) Andrews, maternal grandparents Owen and Edna (Edgerly) Damon; her uncle William "Bill" Andrews, her aunt Elaine (Andrews) Tremblay, uncle Rainy Tremblay, uncle Roland Damon, her very special uncles Donald Damon and James "Jimmy" Damon; a special cousin Nonna "Noni" Null; and near and dear to her heart, her dog "Gidget."
Tammie is survived by her father, Clayton "Ed" and his wife Judith (Giggey) Andrews of Cornville; her brothers, William "Billy" Andrews of Patten, Clayton "Chip" Andrews and his wife Kate of Westport Conn., James "Jamie" Andrews and his wife Cindy of Sidney, and Travis Andrews and his wife Lynn of Madison; her nephews and nieces Clay, John and Will Andrews of Westport, Conn., Cory and Ashley Andrews of Sidney, and Brandon Davis and Jaynna Andrews of Madison; her stepsister Laurie Ellis of Wyoming, her stepbrother Randy Ellis of Skowhegan; her special uncle Kenneth "Ken" Andrews and his wife Rita of Bingham, her aunts Kay Damon of Skowhegan, and Audrey Damon of East Millinocket; her very special cousin and confidant Rachel (Tremblay) Wheeler of Bingham; her special friends, Susan (Dawes) Ficket of Norridgewok, Anne Hogdon of Benton, Errol Purrington of Anson; and several other relatives and friends.
Tammie was a very kind and caring person who loved and enjoyed her family and friends. She especially loved and adored her brother Billy and her nieces and nephews. She loved Billy more than anything else in this world. She always tried to make every moment spent or talking with him special. She was, and always will be a big part of his life. She was the biggest supporter and number one fan of her nieces and nephews. She always kept up to date on what was going on in their lives and was very proud of each and every one of them. She enjoyed hearing from them and about them. She loved going to Ashley's dance recitals, talking with Cory one on one, visiting with Clay, John and Will when they came up to visit, phone calls with Brandon, and emailing back and forth with Jaynna.
Tammie loved reliving old memories from her past. With a smile on her face she would tell of shenanigans from her high school days she was involved in with her good friends Rachel (Austin) Lecasse and the late brother Bernard Austin, as well as the special bond she had with Sue (Dawes) Fickett. She loved talking about things that she, Chip, her cousins Rachel and Timmy, did together in their late teens that their parents never knew about, while speculating, what would have happened if they had found out. She loved talking about younger years when lots of time was spent with her cousins on the Damon side of the family: Danny, Laurie, Julie, Jeff, Anne and Rusty. One of her favorite memories was when she was taken to Hershey Park, Pa., by her brothers Chip and Jamie and their families. She not only got to see her childhood crush of 45 years, David Cassidy (The Partridge Family) in person, but she had pushed her way to front of the stage and he touched her on the hand while he sang, "I think I love you."
Tammie loved writing, so when the Internet brought along Facebook, she really enjoyed reconnecting and writing to friends near and far. She will be remembered by many as a woman with a generous heart, a loyal friend and a co-pilot through many of life's journeys.
Visiting hours will be held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, April 10, at Giberson Funeral Home, 18 River St., Bingham. A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Ed, Billy, Chip, Jamie, Travis and families.
I remember Tammie as a little girl, she had a nice smile and loved her family very much. She quite often was with Jane when I was there visiting having coffee or tea setting at the kitchen table, taking and laughing. It was a happy time.
My Sincere Sympathy to the family.

Dear Andrews family, I want to say how sorry I was to hear of Tammie's passing. She and I were very good friends when she lived here in Guilford and we remained in touch over the years. She was one of the best friends anyone could ask for. She was kind, caring and loving. Her laugh was infectious and just made you want to laugh with her. We had so many good times and I will forever cherish the memories. I hope your memories will help ease your pain. Rest in peace my sweet and fly high with the angels. Love you to the moon and back.
