William Rollins Obituary

William K. Rollins, Jr.
1927 - 2015
HALLOWELL - William (Bill) Rollins, 87, passed away on April 28, 2015, in Ft. Myers, Fla. Born in Augusta, he was the son of the late W. K. Rollins, Sr. and Evangeline Vigue Rollins. He was a graduate of Gardiner High, and was honorably discharged from the 508th Army Airborne Division, having served three years as Staff Sargeant.
Bill married Isabelle Lebel of Hallowell, in 1951, and they celebrated 63 years of love, travel and adventure together.
He retired after 37 years with the Maine State Liquor Comm., serving as manager of the Winthrop store.
Bill, a devoted family man, will be remembered by his love of the outdoors: hunting, being by the water of Tacoma Lakes in Litchfield; downhill skiing in Rangeley. Favorites were skiing in Aspen, Colo., and fishing and touring in Alaska the summer he retired. Most memorable was a ski trip to Grindelwald, Switzerland, and Kitzbuhel, Austria, with the "Rangeley Gang." For the past 18 years, Bill enjoyed his condo in North Fort Myers, Fla.
He was predeceased by two brothers, David and Russell of Pittston and Randolph, and two sisters, Evonne Rollins and Mildred Quintal of Augusta. Bill is survived by a loving wife, Isabelle; and two devoted daughters, Debra Rollins of Augusta, and Delores Rollins of Washington, Vt.
An informal Celebration of Bill's life will be held at Rollins, 82-84 Litchfield Rd. (the former Rollins Furniture), on Sunday, July 19, at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to share in the fellowship and time of remembrance.

I remember when we lived on Litchfield Road Bill would let me ride on the tractor with him while he cut hay in one of our fields. I was about 10 or so. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to learn of Bill's death. I have warm memories of Bill from my childhood--as I do of Isabelle, Deedee, and Debbie. I remember him as a warm and fun person, always with a wonderful smile. My sincere condolences to you all.
