PORTLAND -- Andrea Lynne Byrnes, 41, a resident of Pine Street, Portland, formerly of Danvers, Mass., and Kennebunk, died on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at the Maine Medical Center, Portland after a long illness. S he was born in Methuen, Mass., on Oct. 5, 1971, the daughter of Andrew J. Byrnes and Donna R. Consoli Byrnes and graduated from Danvers High School the class 1989. She attended Middlesex College and graduated from Blaine School of Cosmetology.
Andrea worked as hairstylist in the North Shore and also owned her own hair salon in Everett, Mass., before moving to Maine in 2001. She also owned and operated Sweetie Pie Pastries in Portland for short time.
She was creative cook and loved to cook for large groups.
She is survived by her mother, Donna Byrnes of Kennebunk; a daughter, Arielle Byrnes of Biddeford; a sister, Susan Lovett and her husband Juan of Salem, N.H.; one grandson, Anthony Patterson; two nieces, Stephanie and Kailey, and a nephew Nick. She is also survived by her special dad, Edward Williams.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Special Care Unit 2 at Maine Medical Center in Portland for their exceptional care and compassion for Andrea.
Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Rd., Wells. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Holy Spirit Parish at St. Martha's Church, Portland Road, Kennebunk. Burial will be in St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, Mass. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. www.bibberfuneral.com.
