Anna Snowdeal Obituary
WINDHAM - Anna M. Snowdeal, 81, died on Thursday May 26, 2016, at Ledgewood Manor, Wind- ham. She was born on July 8, 1934, in Rockland, the daughter of Arthur and Catharine (Winch- enbach) Marriner.
Anna grew up in Owls Head and attended local schools. She enjoyed a 20-year career with Barber Foods of Portland, retiring in 2001. She worked for Hannafords in Scarborough for several years before becoming ill.
She will always be remembered for the love she had for her family, and her infectious laugh. Anna loved going back to Owls Head to visit family, whom she held dear to her heart, especially her sister Katie and brother-law Sonny. Anna's favorite pastime was going to yard sales and reading a good book.
Anna's family would especially like to thank the staff of Ledgewood Manor for the loving care while she was there. Thank-you, JoAnne and Chelsea, for going the extra mile to show your love for Anna. Thank you to the staff who helped Anna and family through her final days.
In addition to her parents Anna was predeceased by her husband, Marvin Snowdeal Sr.; brothers, Lawrence, Donald, Roland, and Arthur Marriner; and her sister Beverly Ann Marriner.
She is survived by her son, Marvin "Butch" Snowdeal Jr. of Saco; daughter, Cheryl "Cheri" Leighton and her husband Jeff of Gray; grandsons Jason Snowdeal of Saco and Dan Snowdeal of Portland; great-grandsons Kyle and Maddox; brothers, Bernard Marriner and his wife Joan of Newport, and Alfred Marriner of Owls Head; sisters, Catherine "Katie" Willey and her husband Walter "Sonny" of Owls Head, Donna Ames and her husband Neil of Florida, and Margaret "Peggy" Willey and her husband Dennis of Swanville; plus many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 2. When I first met my husband, and did not know him well enough yet to judge his character, I was reassured when he introduced me to " his second Mom", as I knew that someone who loved and was loved by such a warm, welcoming woman as Anna, had to be alright for me.
