Chad Purington Obituary

Chad Arthur Purington, 37 SCARBOROUGH -- Chad Arthur Purington, 37, of Scarborough, died peacefully on Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at CASA with his loving family by his side. He was born in Portland on Feb. 24, 1972, the son of Wayne C. Purington and Ina M. Hall Purington Sprague. Chad was involved in a serious automobile accident 35 years ago. He has been a resident of CASA in Scarborough for many years. He has been blessed by a wonderful staff at CASA who assisted him with his daily activities. He enjoyed music and the programs that were available at CASA. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Abraham Lincoln Hall in 1983. Chad is survived by his mother, Ina Sprague and step-father Steve of Biddeford, father Wayne Purington and step-mother Beth of Windham; a sister, Kim Purington of Auburn, two brothers, Brent Purington of Cape Cod, Mass., Kyle Wayne Purington and his wife Sonya of Oxford; maternal grandparents, Thelma and Robert Saucier of Saco, paternal grandparents, Arthur and Mary Frances Purington of Scarborough; maternal aunts and uncles, Charlotte and Danny Darling Sr. of South Portland, Beverly and Gary Symonds of Falmouth, paternal aunts and uncles, Ginny and Allen Lewis of Yarmouth, James Purington of Scarborough, Donna and Gary Skillings of Jupiter, Fla., Kathy Howell of Portland; a nephew, Abraham Purington of Oxford; two step brothers, Mike Hawkes and Brad Sprague of Windham, three step sisters, Stephannie Hawkes and Marybeth Hawkes of Windham, Kelly Atkinson and her husband Mark of Vermont; and several cousins. The family would like to express a special thank you and appreciation to the staff at CASA for the great care of Chad received for many years. Memorial visiting hours will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. A 11:30 a.m. memorial service will be held at the Chapel, Saturday, Aug. 15. Interment will be in Scarborough Memorial Cemetery, Scarborough.
