Christopher Martin Byrne, 28
PORTLAND - Christopher Martin Byrne, 28, died unexpectedly at his Portland home on March 29, 2015. Christopher was born on June 28, 1986, in New Brunswick, N.J., to parents Mary Charolotte Groce Byrne and John Martin Byrne.
Christopher was a graduate of Kennebunk High School and studied business at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich.
He enjoyed spending time with friends, exploring the outdoors, fishing, and golf - especially at Cape Arundel Golf Club, where he worked throughout his high school years, and was thrilled to know 41st President George H. W. Bush, and golfing legends Phil Mickelson, Davis Love, and Justin Leonard.
Christopher was a caring and loyal person who loved animals, especially his dog Chili. He was a history enthusiast from an early age, with a keen interest in all things related to the Civil War. Most of all, Christopher was a cherished son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, who will be tremendously missed by a great many people.
Christopher was predeceased by paternal grandparents John Patrick Byrne and Ruth Williams Byrne, maternal grandparents Charles Tillman Groce and Mary Elizabeth Hill Groce; uncle Thomas George Vincent Eddleman; cousins Lindsay Lenail Groce Gardner and Hailey Rain Gardner.
He is survived by mother Mary Charolotte Byrne (Joel Esten), father John Martin Byrne (Simone Guerin); sister Heather-Lee Byrne (Jason Conklin); nephew and niece Tobias Newton and Juniper Faye Conklin; and many much loved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
