Dan McGoff Obituary

Dan McGoff, 58 NEW GLOUCESTER -- Dan McGoff, 58, of New Gloucester, died unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, July 20, 2008. He was born in Plymouth, N.H., on June 18, 1950, the son of the late Albert J. McGoff and Dora E. Komulainen-Burnett. He was educated in Oxford schools and was a Specialist in the U.S. Army where he served two tours in Viet Nam. Dan was employed with the Maine Turnpike Authority for 35 years. He took great pride and joy in his work and tenure. He married Deborah Allie in New Gloucester on Dec. 24, 1982. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycling, visiting lighthouses throughout Maine, and spending time with friends and family. Dan had a very strong work ethic and a giving heart. His smile was genuine, along with his character and will greatly be missed. He is survived by his wife Debbie of New Gloucester; two daughters, Terri McGoff and Stacey Strout of Lewiston; three granddaughters, Samantha, Tayla and Meagan Strout of Lewiston; and many siblings. Services to celebrate Dan's life will be held on Friday, July 25, at 1 p.m. at the 1st Congregational Church on 17 East Main St., in South Paris. The Rev. Donald Mayberry will officiate.
