David Hersom Obituary
PORTLAND -- David W. Hersom past away Jan. 27, 2014, peacefully at home.
David was born Aug. 8, 1947, in Old Orchard Beach.
The son of Elizabeth and Willis Hersom.
David worked at Rickies Tavern for 35 years for Ed and Jean Simmons. David enjoyed working at the bar, met lots of people and David's customers were like family to him.
David loved taking pictures and walking around the city. His favorite place was Bug Light and he loved visiting long time girlfriend, Joyce Sinclair of 30 years. Enjoyed spending holidays with his family, but most of all he loved his bird Baby.
David was predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Willis; and three sisters. He is survived by his sister, Alice 'bootie' Hersom Jenkins of OOB. Brothers, Richard Hersom of Saco, Edward Hersom of OOB, and James Hersom of Brunswick; daughter Bobby-Jo Thomson, and two grandsons. Step-children, Kathy, Karen, David and Michelle Sinclair of Portland. Granddaughters, Jennifer, Joleen, Christiana, grandson James, and two great-granddaughters Jazymn and Rylee; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A very special thank you to all the patrons at the bar, and especially Eddie and his family.
The memorial service will be held at, Woodfords Congregational Church. Saturday, Feb. 1, 1-4 p.m., a reception will be held downstairs immedately after.

I know i will miss you very much on my walks in town and stopping by to say hello to you and the hugs and kisses on my cheek you will be missed you are a great man uncle david and will always be in my heart . R.i.p.now with aunt joice, and please give her a kiss and hug from me and my mom and dad as i know you all will be looking down from heaven and watching over all of us until we meet again god has another wonderful angel.
