David Kohlhase Obituary
RYE, N.H. - David W. Kohlhase Jr., 18, of Rye, passed away suddenly in a sledding accident, on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018.
David was born in Portsmouth, N.H., on Dec. 27, 1999, the beloved son of David W. Kohlhase Sr. and Regina (Nappi) Kohlhase, of Rye.
David was raised in Rye and was in his senior year at Portsmouth High School. He lived life to the fullest. He loved skiing, ice fishing, hunting and basketball, but his true passion was being on the water, fishing out of Rye Harbor.
In addition to his parents, family members include his brother, Lucas Kohlhase, of Rye; his sisters, Danielle Jameson Grace and her husband Travis, of Lee, N.H.; and Madison Kohlhase, of Greenland, N.H.; and his paternal grandparents, Edward and Jacqueline Kohlhase. David also leaves his nieces, Emily and Noviah; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. David will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, in the
Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory,
811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton, N.H. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Theresa Parish, 815 Central Rd., Rye. All those attending the Funeral Mass are requested to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery, Rye. To the family and friends of David, my heart breaks for you. I did not know David, but I'm a regular at Sunday River and when I heard about his accident on one of my favorite trails, I was touched. He clearly had an adventuresome spirit that will be missed. I will keep him in my thoughts, and will keep you all in my prayers.
