WINDHAM - David Alan White, Sr., 49, of Windham, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 following a long illness. David was the youngest son of the late Paul and Mary Joan (Lane) White of Windham. A 1986 graduate of Windham High School, David went on to earn his Class A license, driving for companies such as Coca Cola and Brockway Smith. A gifted jack of all trades, Dave was a natural at most anything he set his mind to. Drawing, carpentry, automotive repair and detailing were just a few of his hobbies. He was an avid Ford man like his dad and spent many hours in the garage with his dad, brothers and nephews working on the family Fords.
While at social functions, David often shared treasured memories of the times he spent with his only son, David, Jr. The swims they would take in Nana and Papa's pool, backyard barbeques and the occasional four wheeling rides were among his favorites. D.J. was the light of his life.
David will be remembered most for his sense of humor and quick wit.
He is survived by his son, David White, Jr. of Westbrook; brothers, Paul White and his wife Sheila of Windham, Jim Waterhouse and his wife Laura of New Gloucester, Bob Waterhouse of Portland; nieces, Bethany Bradley, AnnMarie, Waterhouse, Danielle Waterhouse, Samantha Waterhouse, Breanna and Gabrielle White, nephews, Tim and Tyler Waterhouse; as well as several great nieces and nephews.
A very special thanks to Malcom Dixon, Leo and Linda White and Leeanne White Perry for their selfless offering of support for David during his illness.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 24, 2016 at New Calvary Cemetery, 1461 Broadway, South Portland.
