Elizabeth Brook Obituary
SCARBOROUGH - Elizabeth Jane Brook, who was called Bette by her friends and family, passed away peacefully at her home yesterday, April 8, 2015, after being diagnosed with cancer in late January.
She left the world in a better place through the way she treated and served others with love and kindness. Bette and her husband Ron loved to travel, spend time with friends and family, and entertain at their beautiful house overlooking the Scarborough marsh. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will be getting an amazing angel.
The next time you walk on the beach please think of this wonderful person we called wife, mom, friend, sister, or granny and say a prayer. But most of all she would want you to just enjoy the day.
Bette is survived by her amazing and loving husband Ron; and her two sons Chris and Tim and their families; and her sister Kathy Gryglas.
There will be a viewing at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland, this Saturday, April 11, from 12-2 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at the Italian Heritage Center, 40 Westland Ave., Portland, from 2-5 p.m. Please join us to celebrate an amazing woman!

I feel like to have known Bette and blessed to have had her as part of the Fit to Live exercise class. We all love her beautiful smile and kind heart. So welcoming and supportive of everyone. We had some great times at picnic, special events, Holiday celebrations and so much more. I will see her everytime I look at my the plants she gave me and all her green thumb advice. Love you Bette you are now an Angel.

Our Fit to Live group, which Bette was a part of it, is sadden by the loss of Bette. We had some wonderful picnic, basketball games, lunch and learn get togethers. Bette's positive attitude and beautiful smile always brought joy to us.
Personally got to know Bette and well and will remember her this summer when the plants she gave me will bloom! Miss you, Love you and know that you are in our Hearts dear Bette.

Ron, Chris, and Tim shocked, saddened, and sorry to hear. Betty was always so bright and glowing. She always greeted me with such genuine interest and excitement to learn about my family and our many adventures, particullary those upon the water. I'm priveleged to have known her and although I will miss seeing her around this summer, her glowing spirit and presence will forever be with me and for that I feel blessed. Look forward to seeing you guys around. My deepest sympothies for you and your families.

Betty was a beautiful and fun loving woman. I will miss seeing Betty on the beach enjoying the sun and sand! She was always friendly and showed genuine interest in what was going on in my life. I feel honored to have known her. And to her family, I extend my deepest heartfelt sympathies.

I will always remember Bette as an amazing friend, sister and caring lady. She had a way of making you feel so special and cared for. I never knew anyone who was a better cook or entertained better than Bette and Ron. I loved her and will miss her so much. God truly did receive an angel. ¢½ SANDY
