Ernest Mayberry Obituary

Ernest William
Mayberry, 78
OAKLAND -- Ernest William Mayberry, 78, went to meet his Lord and Savior peacefully on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at the Maine General Medical Center in Waterville, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Boothbay Harbor on July 25, 1931, the son of William and Alice (Peaco) Mayberry. He married Josephine DePeter of Portland on Feb. 13, 1951, and they lovingly celebrated 59 years of marriage together this year.
Ernest took over William's family construction company in 1966, which he owned and operated for 34 years. He passed Mayberry Builders Inc. To his son David in 2000 and had remained active in the business.
He enjoyed summer activities at his camp on Great Pond with his family and friends, including fishing, hunting and watching wildlife.
Ernest was President of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship for 15 years. He participated in several missionary works in South America throughout his lifetime and attended Calvary Temple in Waterville.
Ernest is survived by his wife Josephine; his daughter Deborah Schwep, his son David Mayberry; a grandson, Adam Schwep, and three granddaughters, Rebekah Schwep, Miranda Mayberry, and Emily Mayberry. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Alice; and a sister Ruth Tucci.
His family would like to give special thanks to the Maine General Medical Center Emergency, CCU, and Imaging Department for their compassionate care, and also all his church family at Calvary Temple for their wonderful, loving support and kindness.
A celebration of life open house will take place on Saturday, March 6, from 1-4 p.m., at the residence of his son David and his wife Debra at 10 Heritage Drive, Oakland.

Dearest Josie and family,
May you find the never ending warmth and peace that only God can give during this time. I shall always remember all of you during my teens year in the church in Oakland. Ernest always was a kind and gentle man of God and although he was of few words, you knew that God was leading him in His ways. I keep in contact with Evelyn who keeps me informed of everyone that was a major influence on my life. Know that you will all be together one day and I have learned after losing my own husband, that you do not think about what you have lost, but what that person left behind in this world to influence others. May God Bless you all.

We recently were looking at pictures we took of Grampa Mayberry on his 77th birthay with our boys (Billy, Michael and Mark). We enjoyed a friendly visit that day with Uncle Ernest, Josie, Barbara and David. Barbara played a beautiful piano solo. Many years have passed since that time but Uncle Ernest will never be forgotten. He will always be remembered as an honorable, hard-working business man who kept God first in his life, and loved his family. The Bible says "a just man walketh in his integrity, his children are blessed after him"... Proverbs 20:7 our sincere condolences to Josie, Barbara, David and family...

I have pleasant memories of Ernie and Josie. The help and encouragement Ernie and Josie gave to Carrie and I when we were young and starting the Pentecostal Church in Madison was so special to us. Josie, we will be praying for you and the family.
With love, Inez Sewell MacKinnon

Uncle Ernest will always have a special place in my heart. His door was always open to welcome you in and he always showed his love and appreciation for you. He was down to earth and acceptance of all people. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
My prayers and thoughts are with my Aunt Josie, Cousins Debbie and David and their families.
