Ethel Bridgham Obituary

Ethel Virginia
Bridgham, 85
BANEBERRY, Tenn. -- Ethel Virginia Bridgham, 85, went to heaven, July 3, 2014. She was born in Newark N.J., Aug. 24, 1928, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary McCusker. She was raised and educated in South Portland. After graduating from South Portland High School, she married her classmate and sweetheart, Kenneth Ross Bridgham on Oct. 16, 1948. A marriage made in heaven that would last the remainder of her life. Together they traveled the world while Ken pursued an Army career and she became the beloved mother of five children. After Ken's military retirement in 1969, they settled in Alexandria, Va. where Ken began a second career in television news with the Cox Broadcasting Co. In 1991, they built a retirement home on Lake Meade in East Berlin, Pa. and spent their Summers there while continuing to Winter at their condo in Holiday, Fla. In 2002, they settled into a home close to family in Baneberry, Tenn. where she was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. A special thanks to Fr. Dan Whitman for his close and active spiritual support during her lengthy illness.
Et or 'E.T.' as she was affectionately called by her friends, was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Mary McCusker; her sister Camilla Kazimer and her son Mark R. Bridgham. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth R. Bridgham of Baneberry, Tenn.; and by her sisters Jane Campbell (Eddie), Kay White (Hoyt), Carol Brownyard (Chuck), her four children, Pamela Von Herbulis (Paul) of Banebarry, Tenn.; Kenneth E. Bridgham of Spotsylvania, Va., Paula Racherbaumer (Mike) of Fredericksburg, Va., and Brian Bridgham (Diana) of Baneberry, Tenn., daughter-in-law, Shannon Bridgham. She was lovingly called 'Grammie' by 14 grandchildren and 'G.G.' by 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was truly a loving and supportive wife, a most beloved mother and always a beautiful lady in both appearance and in spirit. She will not be forgotten.
She will be interred at Culpeper National Cemetery in Virginia. Arrangements are being made for a 'celebration of life' at a later date. Arrangements by Stetzer Funeral Home, Morristown, Tenn.
