Jill, Liz and I just found your kayaking gloves buried somewhere in the garage. I was using them to cushion my hands while pushing the lawnmower! How sweet to come upon this reminder of you, and to imagine you out on the water, gliding smoothly, or sitting quietly as you observed the baby eagles on Range Pond.

Jill, Liz and I often think of you when we're walking out in nature and see something that you would have appreciated, or would have photographed. You are still very much in our lives and in our hearts. Catherine and Liz

Jill, just want you to know that Fluffy is headed your way. He passed two days ago, and we thought of all the great people he had in his 99 kitty lives. You were such a good friend to him, and we know he looked forward to all the times that Auntie Jill came over to hang out with him when we were away. This brought up fresh memories of you and appreciation for all the ways in which you enriched our lives. Its sweet to reminisce. Love you, Catherine and Liz

Jill, you are often in my thoughts, especially when I hear the owls at night and see the eagles soaring overhead. I missed you on your birthday in April. You never got to turn 65. My heart is sad and I miss you.

Thinking of you of late ...find myself admiring your photo works- could it be the change of season, or that its been a year and seems more permanent.
Tho not far-

I'm not sure that the days have gotten easier for any of us since you left, my dear friend. So many memories for me, from our times in HS playing sports, our epic adventures in AK and of course paddling, hiking, snow shoeing, etc. Your memorial service was a composite of the many people that you touched along the way. So many stories. May the memories and love comfort you all through the days to come.

After her funeral service my mind kept moving me back to my memories. I could hear Jillsy talking to me, saying,

My dear old friend,
close your eyes...
pretend you're holding my hand,
and hear me whisper...

For the times I was lost,
thoughts of you were there inside of me.
Believe me when I say, You were a great friend you know.
Will you trust me when I say, It's time for me to go?

My dear friend, I have to leave.
You should know why; you know me.
It's my time to be gone, until we meet again someday.
Please don't be too, too sad, we both know I'll be okay.

Trust that I'll never forget you.
and promise me the same; close your eyes until it's through.
Hold my hand; don't open your eyes yet.
Wait until you no longer hear my whisper.

I talked to God and he called my name,
I know life won't be quite the same.
Promise me you won't cry too long, smile for me
because I'm with the One who set me free.

Fly high my friend, soar with the eagles, and "hoo hoo" with the owls, until we meet again.

Wednesday closed with a shining double rainbow over Anchorage and with thoughts of my long-time friend.
Thankful for the many amusing memories, long chats, profound understanding and best of all, comedy. You led an uncomplicated life moved by simple and meaningful moments.
Shine on dear Jillsy. Condolences to all.

Jill, I loved how you marveled at the wonders of the world, and loved sharing it with others. How many times did you call me so we could head out into the street together to ooh and aah at a beautiful sunset, or watch a full moon rise over the rooftops? Such simple pleasures were doubled by sharing them. The neighborhood just won't be the same without you.....

Jill,
We've come a long way since 2nd grade; even remembering each others birthdays for over 55 years. You even made it to Alaska for a visit. We had lots of fun and built crazy memories with Sue, Lois, Vicki and Joyce. We were all a little nuts, but good nuts.
I am lighting a yellow candle for 2 days, then a white one on the third day to guide you on your way. May your new journey be a wild ride full of adventure, peace and true joy.
Fly like an eagle my dear old friend, I will miss you.
Farewell and heartfelt condolences, Ruth, David, Anita, Pete and all the other people close to you and your life. You are all in my thoughts.

Greg and I are so sorry to hear about Jill's passing. I was just thinking about her the other day and what good times we had at each other's houses in grade school, going to First Baptist together and getting the balcony closed down because of our antics during church... just fun, crazy kid stuff. Please know we're thinking of you all and praying for you, Ruth, David and Peter, and families.

J-MAC, Jilly-Jill-Jill..... Going through pics of our trip to Moosehead and Lily Bay, seeing you immersed in nature, with your camera hanging around your neck, gazing at glorious fall colors, happy as a clam, away from the hubbub of SoPo city life. We will miss movie nights with your Mom's mac'n cheese and your veggie chili; walks on Fowler Rd, Fort Williams, Morse Mt and Popham; Staying at the cottage and watching the moonrise; those 5 eagles sitting on the beach at dusk. Going to watch the Supermoon rise over the Fish Shacks with your buddies from the neighborhood. I have many lovely memories. I can't believe you are gone....I can still see you coming up the back steps..... always 10 minutes early. XOXOXO

Jill, you gave me joy before I even knew you- spinnin tunes at the Underground. What a hoot when you moved next door and we figured it out- YOU were that woman DJ-"Jill" on Tuesday nights. From that day it was , to quote Casablanca, the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Who knew how many deep emotions and laughs were in store for us. I miss you so.

So, so sad to read the news of Jill's passing. I knew of Jill through dancing and kayaking adventures. Made plans to kayak but our schedules conflicted. Mid-day in the mid-week is not a time I can get away for the service. Wishing family and friends of Jill great strength in dealing with this loss.
