Kenneth Farrington Obituary

Kenneth E. Farrington, 77
OXFORD - Kenneth "Ken" E. Farrington was born March 9, 1939, with the heart of an ever-cool young man.
Ken passed away on Dec. 22, 2016, at home on his "mountain," with his loving wife, Denise, and daughters by his side.
He remains loved by his son, Ken Farrington Jr., and his partner, Connie Dyke; his two daughters and their husbands, Dawn Allain and Adam Johnson, and Stephanie and Scott Savard; and his brother and sister-in-law, Denis and Donna Farrington. He remains the hip Grandpa Buck to his six beautiful grandchildren: Mackenzie,Madeline, Eli, Meghan, Hayden and Mason.
He grew up in South Portland with his parents, Louise and Fred Farrington, who preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as an 82nd Airborne paratrooper; he served in the Panama conflict, and then spent his career as a machinist in Gray.
He was a true Mainer, with a passion for touring back country Maine roads in his "Puff" truck with his wife; was an intent listener for those who needed to be heard, and loved relaxing in his recliner staring at his woodstove. He will be missed terribly by his many friends and extended family, but will be remembered for his love of classic rock and his kind, gentle soul.
Visiting hours are Friday, Dec. 30, from 1-3 p.m.; funeral service is at 3 p.m. Reception to follow at 4 p.m. All services will be held at
Hobbs Funeral Home,
230 Cottage Rd., South Portland.

Rest in Peace Cousin Kenny. Years ago we knew you well because of my Dad, John Libby. You had so many adventures in the outdoors. You were "the guy". You will be so missed but never forgotten.

Losing a loved one can bring much grief. Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of . I love the words spoken in the scripture at 1 Thessalonians 4:14 written by Paul when he was in Corinth "For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again, so too God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus". What a wonderful promise. To know that you can see your loved ones again!

Dear Denise and Family:
For the brief time I knew Ken, I embraced him as man of character, kindness and gentleness.
I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories and hearts. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love and all that embodied them on their earthly journey.

With Prayer, Love and Sympathy,
Sr. Maria (Diane)
