My heartfelt sympathys go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope the words in 1 Thessalonians 4 : 14 can bring you some comfort. Knowing that there is a future for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

I was sorry to read of Meg's passing, but treasure memories of her as a co-worker and good friend. We met in the 1990's when we both worked for the Maine Workers' Compensation Board in Portland. Meg was an employee Advocate and worked hard supporting her clients and presenting cases
for injured workers. She had a big heart for anyone in need and also opened her doors at home to friends all the time (I was fortunate enough to enjoy many Easter and Thanksgiving dinners at her home in Saco with her children and Clark cousins).
She and I discovered by chance that we'd lived " parallel lives " before meeting. After a WCB conference in Augusta we went to lunch, began talking about having both lived in Augusta in mid '80's and found that we had lived in the same apt- she & son John being the next tenants after I moved to
Portland!! Then we found that she had seriously considered buying the same house in Portland that I ended up owning.
In addition to those connections we enjoyed shopping for bargains at Marden's, sharing garden plants (her globe thistle are currently blooming in my garden), silly gifts I would find for get like a multitude of stuffed Paddington Bears from Goodwill and garden gnomes. Many laughs were shared over the years, probably the best being when daughter Beth planned a surprise 60th birthday party for Meg, but she went out shopping and couldn't be found (despite being paged at Marden's where we all figured she was), all the guests had a good time though and write funny things about her in the guest book! For her 70th birthday no surprise was planned so she did attend, with the kids, many friends and Clark cousins. She also loved music and playing the piano at home or in church. Like the daisy she was named after Meg was always a beautiful delight to the world! Her good spirit and generous nature will be missed.

Your Mom will be missed. She was a wonderful school friend to both myself and John. I shall always remember the book in her lap hidden by a desk or tabletop in every class. Never got caught either.
God bless you all.

My heartfelt condolences to Beth, Geoffrey and John. Your Mom and I were friends for many years even though we didn't see one another often. When I think of your Mom, I picture her laughing - she had a fun sense of humor and a welcoming heart. I am so very sorry there is no time left to sit down and have a visit with her. I will always cherish the memories we shared. Sending you all love and hugs.

I am so sad to learn of the loss of Meg. She and I go way back to our days in Herzogenaurach Germany and we had adventures together. She has been a welcomed voice of sanity on Facebook and I was sure she and I would meet up again one of these days. Beth, Geoffrey, John, this is a great loss. I'm truly shocked and sorry. Your Mom will live on in each of you.
love, Karen

I am so sorry to hear of Meg's passing and send my condolences to all of her family. I have known Meg for many years through United Baptist Church. As a family we loved to hear her play the piano. I have admired her so much over the years, we spent a lot of time talking, and in more recent years conversing through Facebook. She left a huge impact on many lives that will be felt for years to come. Rest In Peace, sweet lady.

I am so sorry to hear of Marguerite's sudden death. We are cousins and have been friends for a long time. I am just so happy I got to see her at our "cousin reunion" when I was back in Maine last month. It is so sad I will not get to visit with her again in my lifetime. My love to all the family.

To all the Gardner children, please know how sorry I am to learn of the loss of your dear mom! She was a very special lady. I first got to know her through UBC when she was the high bidder for the paint a room donation I made for our Royal Family Kids Camp auction fundraiser. I spent several days at her house painting her back sun room that happy bright yellow! In that short time we talked non stop and became fast friends. Her outlook on life no matter what was thrown at her was as sunny as that room! Please accept my very deepest sympathy!
